Location: Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre

Employment Status: Casual

Classification: DKHAC Level 2

Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024

Salary: $39.85 per hour (inclusive of 20% casual loading) + Superannuation 13.5%

About the role

Join our team at the Aquatic Centre and become a guardian of the waves! We are seeking vigilant and dynamic individuals to fill the role of Lifeguard. This role will ensure the health and well‐being of the patrons of the aquatic centre at all times.

Responsibilities
* Provide pool rescue and/or first aid attention when required.
* Set up/pack up equipment for programmes or events within the Centre.
* Supervise the public in use of the aquatic facilities to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment for members, guests and user groups, and answer customer queries about facility use.
* Perform a range of other duties (as directed) within the occupant's skills, knowledge and experience in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications
* Pool Lifeguard Certificate (Issued by Royal Life Saving Society).
* Provide First Aid (HLTAID011).
* Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID010).
* Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (HLTAID009).
* Current registration to work with vulnerable people.
* Current driver's licence.

Whilst experience is preferred, we welcome applications from people who love working with a range of different customers in a fun, team‐based environment and who are ready to seek new knowledge.

We would ideally love it if you were available for up to 7 days to cover existing shifts. However, we understand that life can happen. Our ideal candidate will be flexible, and we will work with you to arrange days off as needed.
