We are currently seeking a full time Medical Scientist to undertake a multi-discipline role in our laboratory in Kalgoorlie. Kalgoorlie is located 600 kms east of Perth in the Western Australian Goldfields region. We are seeking applications from Kalgoorlie residents, this is not a FIFO role.
The Kalgoorlie laboratory provides high quality diagnostic service to the Kalgoorlie region. We are seeking an experienced scientist to join our small team, working in all areas of the laboratory to provide a quality, efficient, caring and professional diagnostic service.
Overview
The main focus of this position is:
* Laboratory analysis using a variety of instruments including instrument setup, maintenance, QC review, sample loading and authorisation of results.
* Ensure compliance with all aspects of NATA and other accreditation standards.
* Communicate with local clients to ensure service level is maintained.

Qualifications
* Hold a degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a science degree with subjects relevant to the field of pathology, or an overseas qualification which has been assessed by AIMS as being equivalent.
* Have a demonstrated ability to work in an efficient, professional manner, both independently and co-operatively with others.
* Have excellent communication skills.
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience working in a multi-skilled laboratory role including technical competency in the areas of Haematology, Coagulation, Biochemistry and Toxicology
* This role would suit a new graduate who is willing to learn new skills.
Work hours
* Applicants must be available to work shifts rostered between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and regular Saturdays.
