About the Opportunity
This is an exciting and autonomous opportunity to join a busy, dynamic community health team managing patients within the Liverpool council area of the South Western Sydney Local Health District. Supported by Nurse Unit Manager, you will work closely with specialised teams including Palliative Care, Wound Care, and Hospital in the Home (HITH).

Your role will focus on maintaining and enhancing the clinical skills of community nurses through education and training, coordinating mandatory training, supporting the acquisition of new skill sets, and leading quality improvement initiatives within the team.

You will collaborate with community nursing staff, palliative care teams, wound care specialists, and the HITH team, as well as management and support staff to ensure best practice standards are upheld.

This is a full-time position, working five days per week on a non-rotating roster, with weekends and public holidays off.

What You'll be Doing
Deliver and evaluate clinical education programs in consultation with Management, Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants, to support the delivery of clinical best practice, patient service and enhanced patient outcomes.

How to Apply

1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a post graduate qualification in a relevant clinical field or education post graduate qualification or a combination of education training and clinical experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
2. Demonstrated understanding of competency-based assessment with experience in education / clinical teaching and developing clinical programs based on adult learning principles.
3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team.
5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
8. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
