Location: WAYTCo Studio, King Street Arts Centre, Perth
Reports to: Board of Management
Direct Reports: Social Media Manager, Project Coordinator, Bookkeeper
Hours: 30 hrs/week, Monday–Friday
Conditions: Flexible, family-friendly work options available; limited travel required.
0.8 FTE | $85,000 p.a. pro rata + 12% super + phone allowance

The Role
WAYTCo is seeking a people‑focused General Manager to lead company operations, financial management, and strategic delivery. Working closely with the Artistic Director and reporting to the Board, the General Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting high‑quality artistic, education and community programmes while strengthening organisational sustainability and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Planning & Implementation – Support company strategy, co‑develop annual programs, cultivate partnerships, and embed youth voice.
* Team Leadership – Foster a positive and compliant workplace culture, manage staff and contractors, and ensure child‑safe practice.
* Financial Management – Oversee budgets, payroll, reporting, audits, grant acquittals and income generation activities.
* Company Operations – Manage insurance, tenancy, systems, assets, marketing oversight, compliance and day‑to‑day business operations.
* Board Servicing – Coordinate meetings, reporting, documentation, AGM preparation and compliance with charitable and corporate obligations.
Essential Criteria
Candidates must demonstrate:
* Experience in leadership or management, preferably in the arts, not‑for‑profit or community sector.
* Strong financial management capability, including budgeting, reporting and oversight of accounting processes.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a small‑team environment.
* Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders (e.g., partners, funders, community organisations, artists, young people).
* Experience supporting staff and/or contractors, including fostering a safe, positive and compliant workplace culture.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism and clarity in all interactions.
* Understanding of child‑safe practices and a commitment to safeguarding young people (or willingness to undertake required training).
