We're hiring: Software Engineers (Level 2)
The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is seeking a Software Engineer (Level 2) to join our Software Development team in an ongoing, full‐time role.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of an existing web application that supports ACER's mission to improve learning worldwide. You'll work closely with developers and internal stakeholders to deliver high‐quality, reliable software solutions.
What You'll Do
* Contribute to software development initiatives under a Lead Software Engineer
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test plans and design specifications
* Participate in data integration, implementation and planning activities
* Investigate, test and resolve software issues
* Collaborate with internal teams and support client handover processes
What You Bring
* Experience in object‐oriented design and development
* Strong database design experience using SQL and MongoDB
* Experience producing UML and technical design documentation
* Understanding of software development methodologies and lifecycles
* Ability to work effectively with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders
* Strong organisational, communication and time‐management skills
* A bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent)
