Overview
A newly created opportunity has arisen for a skilled and commercially minded Senior Tax Adviser to join a respected and growing firm based in Perth. This is a strategic appointment in response to an upcoming national expansion and an increasing demand for high-level tax advisory services.
Working within a specialist tax consulting division, you will deliver bespoke technical advice to a sophisticated client base of private groups, high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and family offices. With no compliance obligations or portfolio management, this is a pure advisory position offering direct exposure to complex structuring, transactions, and tax planning matters.
Responsibilities
Drafting detailed and technically written tax advice
Managing and executing advisory projects involving CGT, Division 7A, restructuring, intergenerational transfers, succession planning, M&A, and SMSFs
Advising on ATO reviews, objections and private rulings
Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and legal partners to develop commercially sound solutions for clients
Contributing to internal technical training and national knowledge sharing as the firm expands its advisory footprint
Role Requirements
Seeking an experienced adviser with strong technical capability and the ability to operate confidently in a client-facing environment. Importantly, you'll bring a genuine interest in providing practical solutions to private clients across diverse sectors and structures.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years (ideally 5+) of experience in a public practice tax advisory environment
Proven track record drafting written advice for private clients and SMEs
Sound understanding of relevant tax legislation and private group issues
Experience managing ATO review processes (e.g., Top 500, Next 5000, objections)
