We're seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse with a strong Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) background to join a service in the Northern Territory on an 8-week locum contract. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver meaningful, high-impact care in a regional or remote setting, with all travel and accommodation covered.

About the Role
You'll provide high-quality mental health and AOD-focused care within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. This role suits nurses who are confident working autonomously and have experience managing acute presentations, crisis situations and complex dual diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive mental health and AOD assessments and interventions
* Support clients experiencing substance misuse, crisis presentations and dual diagnoses
* Respond effectively to acute mental health episodes
* Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
* Provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care
What You'll Need
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
* Demonstrated experience in Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs
* Crisis and/or Emergency Department (ED) experience managing acute mental health presentations
* Strong clinical judgement, risk assessment and de-escalation skills
* Ability to adapt to regional or remote work environments
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
