The Role
Our Precision Machining workshop in Adelaide requires a full-time 1st Class Metal Machinist or Fitter Machinist to join our fast-paced and developing workshop due to growing work fronts, contracts, upcoming and existing projects, maintenance, and shut-down requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Work in a safe and productive manner.
* Assist in the continual improvement of processes.
* Read detailed drawings to manufacture parts accurately.
* Operate conventional workshop equipment such as Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, and Cylindrical Grinding machines to manufacture parts from various metals and material types.
* CNC machine operation and programming skills, including Siemens and Mazatrol controllers are advantageous.
* Measure and check parts for tolerance and fits according to specified tolerances.
* Fitting of parts into sub-assemblies and machines.
* Maintain and repair machines and equipment regularly.
* Provide technical support to ensure all works meet health, safety, environment, and quality requirements.
* Perform operational maintenance on machines and overhauling and repairing of mechanical parts.
* BUILD strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
* Hold a recognized trade qualification as fitter machinist, or 1st class metal machinist.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in precision metal machinery.
* Demonstrate proven technical competency in metal machinery.
* Show a proactive approach to workplace safety.
* Ability to manage your own time and be self-motivated.
* Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards work.
* Able to work proactively in a fast-paced environment.
* Maintain disciplined attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong organizational and team working skills.
* Hold a current driver's license.
All suitably qualified and experienced candidates will be considered. We also consider sponsoring applicants under the TSS-482 or 494 Visa sponsorship program or visa transfer. The salary range will be between AUD $85,000 and AUD $100,000.
