The Propulsion Development Engineer plays a critical part in achieving this vision. This engineer will take hardware from concept to flight operations, ensuring everything works seamlessly and safely.
Responsibilities:
* Engine Design and Operation: Design, analyze, develop, and operate Raptor engine propulsion systems
* Resource Alignment: Align resources to accomplish key objectives, setting high standards of excellence
* Launch Cadence Enablement: Enable high launch cadence with unparalleled reliability through automated analysis of test and flight data
* Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers across various disciplines to achieve successful engine performance in flight and ground testing
* Test Operations Support: Support live test and flight operations as primary console operator
* Risk-Conscious Decision Making: Exercise risk-conscious decision-making skills under pressure
* System Representation: Represent the engine system to the vehicle, ground, customer, and administrative disciplines
* Test Result Analysis: Analyze test results and execute walkdowns
* Verification Processes: Implement and maintain rigorous hardware and software verification processes
* Hardware Ownership: Fully own critical spaceflight hardware with profound responsibility
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
* 1+ years of experience with pressurized fluid systems
* 1+ years of experience in hardware design, manufacture, assembly, test, and/or flight
