Launceston General Hospital is seeking a skilled medical professional to provide specialist care to patients attending the hospital. The successful applicant will be involved in research and quality improvement activities, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
The role of Staff Specialist - General Medicine/Acute Care Services involves providing specialist medical care to patients, with a focus on acute stroke care including thrombolysis. Experience or interest in intermediate care models, including hospital avoidance programs, is desirable.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing specialist medical care to patients
* Being involved in research and quality improvement activities
* Undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
The successful applicant will have:
* Holds specialist registration; or
* Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) on the specialist pathway; or
* Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an IMG with a recognised overseas specialist qualification and sufficient experience in the specialty.
