**Who we are**:
Mitani is a third-generation family business success story. Initially pioneering the
commercial production of chicken salt, Mitani has built relationships with food
companies to expand into other areas of food production including stuffing's,
dressings, and seasonings. Under the guidance of the current generation, they are
well positioned for further growth and development across the business and industry.
**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced manager to join the team to lead and drive
all aspects of strategic procurement and supply. It is a key role to the business and
will report to the General Manager, Operations. The role will provide you with
opportunities to deliver cost savings and business synergies whilst working
alongside a passionate group of people who thrive on an entrepreneurial spirit and
strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities, not limited to:
- Identify opportunities to improve the commercial interests of the business
across both existing and new supply chains;
- Challenge and renegotiate existing contract terms with the existing supply
chain either to improve cost, schedule, delivery or reduce supply chain
risks;
- Work across multiple departments to identify inventory reduction initiatives
and implement tangible measures with respect to stock and warehousing;
- Develop strategic sourcing category plans which deliver sustainability, risk
management and responsible sourcing outcomes for the business;
- Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive
process and service improvements.
Not essential, but it would be fantastic if you had:
- Procurement experience with at least 5-10 years experience in food
processing and/or manufacturing;
- Exposure to innovative food production would be an advantage;
- A passionate, results-driven mindset with sharp commercial acumen;
- Highly organised, with an ability to manage competing priorities and
deadlines and remain calm under pressure;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
