About headspace
headspace are a busy and innovative youth mental health service providing a variety of mental health, medical, sexual and other health related services as well as vocational, functional groups and social services to young people aged 12 to 25 years and their families.
About the Opportunity
The Registered Nurse provides mental health nursing treatment to young people presenting to headspace services in Darwin & Palmerston. You will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support the physical and sexual health needs of young people across all headspace programs. You will provide person centered, youth friendly services that facilitates a culture emphasising family involvement.
Your role as Registered Nurse will play an important role in a range of interventions to support young people which include Physical & Sexual health screenings, education, metabolic screening and monitoring and administration of depot injections in a dedicated clinic space.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Qualifications as a Registered Nurse and hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery board of Australia, and current unrestricted practicing certificate.
* A proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with young people.
* Prior (minimum 3 years) experience working within relevant mental health setting or providing physical and sexual health care.
* Prior experience or, at a minimum, demonstrated commitment to working respectfully with Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse clients, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations.
Please note this is a part time position - 3 days per week.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must provide 100 points of identification to confirm Australian citizenship or eligibility to work in Australia; possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a current National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a valid NT driver’s licence.
Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
