About the Department
Health Information Services (HIS) provides invaluable operational support that contributes to the efficient functioning of Alfred Health services. The Health Information Services team plays a fundamental role in delivering health information to the Alfred Health community. Our team prides itself on the ability to support our clinical and clerical teams to provide the best patient care. Health Information Services supports the delivery of quality health information across the three campuses at Alfred Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of medical records
- Management and governance of patient medical record numbers
- Patient administration system (iPM)
- Scanning and importing of all internal and external clinical documentation
- Statutory reporting of all inpatient episodes (VAED)
- Dictation and transcription services
- Enquiries including the main reception at the Alfred Hospital, Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre and Caulfield Hospital
- Switchboard services at The Alfred and Caulfield Hospitals
- Release of information to external health services
- Management and coordination of subpoena and warrant compliance
- Alfred Health Archives
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Year 12 or relevant work experience
Desirable
- Highly developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Administrative and customer service experience in a hospital environment
