About the Position
- Investigate a range of legislative controls focusing on, but not limited to, animal management, protection of amenity through local laws, rubbish dumping and parking.
- Gather evidence, issue infringements and prepare briefs of evidence and reports that support the giving of evidence as a witness to achieve successful outcomes.
- Impound and dispose of abandoned vehicles, shopping trolleys and illegal signs in accordance with Council's policies and procedures.
- Participate in rostered Monday to Friday shifts and weekend shifts, with regular weekend and after‐hours work (overtime and allowances will apply).
About You
- Work using your own initiative and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders in a confident and polite manner.
- Well‐developed organisational skills, including the ability to deal with high volume workload, manage time, plan, and organise own work.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure IT platforms and programs are optimised and specifically customised to ensure the successful delivery of administrative functions and responsibilities.
- Highly developed writing skills including the ability to prepare correspondence and reports in response to matters of varying complexity.
Requirements
- A Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation or Local Government (Regulatory Services), or a similar qualification is desirable.
- Maintaining a current Victorian Driver's Licence is mandatory.
- Right to work in Australia.
