 
        
        OverviewThis is a specialist role within our People and Culture team, with payroll as the primary focus. 
You will manage payroll from start to finish and ensure compliance and accuracy for all staff. 
Alongside payroll, you will contribute to HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and employee engagement. 
The role suits someone with proven payroll expertise who also values variety and development across HR.Key responsibilitiesPayroll (approx. 60%)Manage end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payroll using Employment HeroEnsure compliance with superannuation, STP, payroll tax, and related requirementsMaintain accurate employee setups, pay rules, and leave balancesPrepare and reconcile payroll reports for management reviewAct as the first point of contact for payroll queries and resolve them efficientlyPeople and culture support (approx. 40%)Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processesPrepare contracts, letters, and employee recordsAssist with internal communications, events, and recognition programsMaintain and update policies, procedures, and formsProvide responsive support to employee queriesWhat you'll bringProven end-to-end payroll experience (minimum 2 years) is essentialKnowledge of awards, EBAs, and payroll compliance requirementsStrong systems and spreadsheet capability (Employment Hero experience highly regarded)High level of organisation, accuracy, and attention to detailAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionStrong communication skills and proactive follow-throughHR or Business qualification is helpful but not essentialAbout usHydroChem is one of Australia's leading water treatment companies, with a proud history of more than 45 years.
