An exciting opportunity has presented itself to join the Field Services team as a Field Engineer working on the nbn network in Dubbo.
The Field Services (FS) Team within Chief Operations Business Unit, provides Field Workforce capabilities across all technologies for, Service Activation, Service Assurance, Network Assurance, Network Maintenance, Customer Complaints linked with Network faults and Quality Inspection.
A bit about your role
Your new role as a Field Engineer would require you to represent nbn's Field Services team for all field-based assurance and build activities. You will be responsible for the support, integration, augmentation, field audits, connect quality and Delivery Partner quality activities across nbn and the services connected to the network.
You will provide high level field support which may involve travel, scheduled after hours activities, and may require you to be part of an on-call roster and respond to afterhours call outs.
This role involves field management and network assurance for nbn's passive and active network, with a focus on network upgrades/assurance. It requires providing on-site, technical support and resolving escalations.
The successful candidate will handle assurance activities and network element upgrades, with a strong understanding of FTTP and FTTC technologies.
A bit about you
The ideal candidate should have a technical background in conducting FTTx maintenance and restoration. Preferably, they should possess robust network assurance expertise in one or more nbn technologies such as Ethernet, DWDM, GPON, or VDSL. This technical proficiency, combined with a strong background in network assurance, would be highly beneficial for this role.
You will be a natural problem solver with a methodological approach. Having the aptitude to learn quickly would be a requirement in this role. Given the nature of this role, you will have the ability to be flexible, adaptable and be able to cope with conflicting priorities. You will be a highly organised team player, with the ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic work environment.
