The Polly Farmer Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to support and enhance the educational opportunities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across Australia. Our programs in Hedland include a STEM after-school Primary Follow the Dream program (FTD), Four Primary Follow the Dream programs, and a Secondary Follow the Dream program based at Hedland SHS students.
We are currently seeking a Casual Bus Driver to transport students to and from our programs using a 12 seater Toyota Hiace Commuter. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
•After-school runs for the STEM Program from Port Hedland to South Hedland PS on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
•One day per week FTD dropping secondary students after school.
•Extra incursion and excursion casual runs as needed.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
•A valid Australian driver's license ('C' Class as minimum) with a clean driving record
•A Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•A commitment to the education and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
•Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
The expected working hours for this role are as follows (approximately 6 hours per week):
•Tuesday: 4 hours for Primary student pick up and High School drop off (from 2.00pm – 6.00pm)
•Thursday: 4 hours for Primary student pick up and High School drop off (from 2.00pm – 4.00pm)
