Overview
Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for a Library Assistant. Contract: 6 months | Immediate Start. Hourly Pay Rate: $45 p/h + Super.
Responsibilities
* Implements and monitors WHS policies, procedures, and programs
* Follows safety procedures and reports hazards or incidents immediately
* Understands and works within Council's Code of Conduct
* Responds promptly and appropriately to staff and public requests
* Provides customer service at the library desk and accurate information to patrons
* Supports delivery of library programs as directed
* Completes daily tasks including returns, shelving, borrowing, and handling damaged items
* Assists with reserve lists and collection displays
* Contributes to themed and new item displays to promote library use
Essential Qualifications
* 2+ years experience in an administration support role within local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
* Customer Service / Library experience
* Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
