Inventory and planning manager

Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to manage the complete inventory cycle for Interface Australia and NZ. It covers the planning, purchasing, allocation and disposal of raw materials and finished goods, the S&OP process including demand planning and the removal of obsolete products and yarn.
A key part of the role is process improvement, implementation and monitoring of the production planning and yarn ordering process. This allows the effective daily scheduling of production
The inventory and planning manager is accountable for managing the $36M of national inventory including determining and minimizing obsolete raw materials and finished goods by introducing and optimizing raw material forecasting, monitoring and stocking policies. The Inventory and planning manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and refinement of a formalised S&OP process

Areas of Responsibility
Process development
- Continue the development and optimisation of key planning and scheduling processes - S&OP, Production planning, yarn ordering
Raw material Purchasing
- Based on the planned and scheduled production ensure that there are sufficient raw materials
- Manage obsolescence of raw materials to minimise the P&L impact
- In conjunction with the procurement manager seek cost effective replacement to minimise operating costs
Production and raw material planning
- Capacity planning
- Collect and analyse data for the monthly S&OP meeting
- Develop recommendations for the improved capacity
- Continually enhance the production planning process to optimise resources
Production Scheduling
- Ensure the weekly production schedule and yarn allocation process are developed
- Implement the current scheduling and yarn allocation processes on a timely basis to minimise waste and meet customer requirements
Inventory management
- Develop rules for the forecasting obsolete raw materials
- Take action to minimise the amount of raw materials written off
- Take action to minimise the amount of finished goods that are written off
- Minimise the cost of 3PL storage
Safety
- Demonstrate safe working behaviours
- Meet KPI's for safety connections (e.g. critical risk surveys, toolbox talks)
- Complete assigned corrective actions in a timely manner

Qualifications and Experience required
- Manufacturing experience, ideally within the têxtiles industry
- Patience, resilience and tenacity to work within a complex operational environment
- Previous experience establishing metrics, KPI and drive of positive changes within the business
- Proven experience leading and coaching staff
