About the Role
We're looking for an Operations Training Specialist who brings expert blasting know how and can turn complex processes into training that sticks for our people.
You'll lead the full operational training cycle from identification of skill gaps to designing, delivering and assessing standards that empower our people to perform their roles safely and efficiently. You'll be the bridge between operational excellence and practical learning to support our culture where the safety and capability of our people are first.
What You'll Do
* Design, develop and delivery operational training that is practical, engaging and mapped to national units of competency
* Plan, deliver, develop and review training requirements against Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
* Create impactful content that lifts standards in blasting and explosives handling.
* Develop and map assessments to national competency frameworks.
* Conduct audits and create on-site assessments to close skill gaps fast.
* Coach and mentor field trainers and assessors to raise the bar across every site.
* Partner with site leaders and HSECQT function to ensure compliance and safety excellence.
* Champion smarter systems from digital training tools to automated compliance reporting.
What You Bring
* Willing to travel to our sites in Central Queensland regularly
* 5+ years in explosives management and shotfiring.
* TAE40122 or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment – essential.
* RII competencies for blasting and open-cut mining.
* In depth understanding of the Resource Industry and Infrastructure Training packages and Competency Based Training methods.
* Knowledge and understanding of the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).
* Confident communicator who can engage everyone from trainees to senior leaders.
* Sharp attention to detail, with a drive for safety, quality, and results.
* Proficient in Microsoft office and comfortable using digital tools and platforms to manage records and reporting
* Advanced qualifications in explosives management or experience in high-risk training environments? Even better.
