As our Bookkeeper, you’ll play a vital role in keeping financial records accurate, compliant, and up to date. You’ll collaborate with our team and clients to deliver exceptional bookkeeping services while being mindful of cultural sensitivities.
Your work will help support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients throughout Australia – ensuring that their trust and company accounts are managed with integrity and precision.
A Day in the Life Might Include:
Managing and reconciling financial records for clients in line with Australian accounting principles.
Processing accounts payable and receivable accurately and on time.
Preparing BAS and financial statements.
Conducting regular financial analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Collaborating with clients and team members to answer questions and provide clear financial insights.
Supporting trust accounting functions and using third-party applications connected to cloud-based accounting systems.
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping or management accounting.
- Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) or equivalent (highly regarded).
- Strong knowledge of MYOB AR and MYOB Business, including data entry, payroll and superannuation.
- Proven experience completing BASs and working with trust accounts.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and confidence with cloud-based software.
- Excellent time management skills – you’re highly organised and efficient.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a can-do attitude.
- Ability to manage a high workload and stay calm under pressure.
It’d Be Excellent If You Also Have:
- Knowledge of Charitable Trusts and/or Aboriginal Corporations.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Familiarity with a variety of operating systems and third-party accounting applications.
