About This Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and organised Student Administration Officer to deliver high-quality professional support to students and stakeholders within the Business, Economics and Law Faculty. You will provide accurate, friendly advice, manage a range of administrative processes, and support day-to-day student and academic matters.
Working within an established and supportive team, you will contribute to the effective operation of administrative systems and the ongoing development of faculty policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Provide accurate and timely advice to current and prospective students and process documentation in relation to admission, enrolment, progression, exchange, examinations, graduation matters, etc. in programs designated by the Manager, Student Administration.
* Apply a sound general knowledge of student administration and develop specific knowledge of university rules, policies and procedures relating to student and academic administration.
* Assist the Manager, Student Administration and/or Senior Manager, Academic Services on matters relating to student and academic administration.
* Liaise with other Faculties, Schools and Central Administration regarding matters of policy and procedures related to student administration.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of administrative procedures for degree programs offered through the Faculty.
* Represent the Faculty and its schools at TSXPO, Open Day, graduation ceremonies and other events as required.
* Act as Secretary to Faculty Committees as required, including preparation of agendas and minutes and taking follow-up action.
* Be responsible for various projects as determined by the Manager, Student Administration and/or Senior Manager, Academic Services.
* Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for up to 12 months at HEW Level 5.
About You
* A relevant undergraduate qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
* Demonstrated knowledge of student and academic administration processes, particularly admissions, enrolment, progression and graduation.
* Experience using university student systems (e.g. SI-net, Business Objects), or the ability to quickly develop proficiency in new systems.
* High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
* A strong commitment to delivering high-quality, student-focused customer service.
* Proven ability to engage empathetically and communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia and criminal history checks. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
