Overview
Position: Structural Engineer – Inspections & Reporting Location: Perth, Western Australia About the Role: An exciting opportunity has become available for a Structural Engineer with a strong focus on inspections, reporting, technical queries (TQs), and training. This role supports the integrity of residential construction projects across WA, working closely with registered builders to ensure high standards in structural compliance and reporting. You will deliver detailed structural assessments and reports for residential homes, engage with builders on technical queries, and provide training to improve builder understanding and application of structural reporting processes. This role suits a technically strong communicator with a passion for quality, education, and practical construction solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed in office structural inspections for residential buildings.
Prepare and deliver comprehensive structural reports aligned with Australian standards.
Respond to and resolve technical queries (TQs) from builders and site personnel.
Facilitate training sessions for registered builders on interpreting and applying structural reports.
Collaborate with internal engineering and construction teams to maintain consistency in reporting and communication.
Support ongoing process improvements related to structural integrity assessments.
What You’ll Bring
A Bachelor b4s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
7+ years of experience in structural engineering, ideally within residential or low-rise construction.
Strong technical report writing skills and knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC.
Confidence in presenting and delivering training to builder groups or small teams.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a solutions-based mindset.
Chartered status (desirable but not essential).
