Overview
As a Legal Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of barristers. This position is 2-3 days per week between 8:30am-5:00pm, with potential to increase.
Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support to barristers, including scheduling appointments/conferences and managing correspondence
- Use of transcription and dictation to prepare and format legal documents and correspondence
- Performing general office duties, such as answering phones, greeting clients, invoicing and ordering supplies
- Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks
Qualifications
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Robust verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with solicitors and clients
- Proficient in the use of common office software, including word processing
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Previous secretarial experience is favourable, although not essential, as full training will be provided. Law students at any stage of their degree are encouraged to apply.
Remuneration
Remuneration in accordance with level 2 clerical employee - Legal Services award, including casual loading.
