About Us

Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our team, working across Lithgow Hospital and Portland Tabulam Multi-Purpose Service. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient centred care across a variety of clinical areas. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes for patients, clients, and carers, including those from Indigenous and multicultural backgrounds. You will uphold professional standards through ethical nursing practice and compliance with NBMLHD policies, procedures, and relevant legislation. The role also involves providing mentorship and clinical preceptorship to staff and students, while managing resources effectively to support service delivery.

What you will bring to the role

* Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
* Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in general nursing
* Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
* Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
* Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
* Demonstrated commitment to professional development
* Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements
* Ability to work a minimum of 2 - 3 shifts per fortnight

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
