**Registry Operations Specialist - Melbourne, Australia**
**What Identity Digital is about**
This role works in a DevOps environment with members of different teams to continuously maintain, deploy and improve the products. Primary responsibilities include configuration, support and maintenance of Identity Digital's custom-built software in pre-production and production environments.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform system administration tasks in third-party hosted and cloud environments with a focus on maintaining Identity Digital's production software (e.g install software, troubleshoot system problems to effective resolution)
- Support of all Identity Digital's production software
- Investigate, evaluate and recommend new technologies which may include interacting with vendors and external clients
- Assist in the training of new members of the team as necessary
- Act as third level support for customer problems (on-call after-hours)
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and other automation processes to meet company needs by designing, developing, testing and implementing DevOps tools and processes
- Use automation tools to build, integrate and deploy operation related processes
- Represent the team in internal cross impact projects, providing technical guidance and expertise
- Provide disaster recovery planning and execution
- Establish and follow procedures for installing software in hosted and co-located environments
- Write and maintain documentation for production systems
- Configure, deploy and test production software releases
- Assist other members of product team with design, deployment and support of existing and new infrastructure
**Technical knowledge & skills required**
- 4+ years Unix/Linux System Administration experience
- 2 years experience with managing DNS
- 3+ years experience in DevOps environments
- experience with configuration management such as Puppet, Ansible
- familiarity with containerizations and tools such as Docker
- experience with pipeline principles and tooling like Gitlab
- 2+ year experience working on AWS with familiarity with VPC, EC2, EBS concepts
- 3+ experience with most of the following technologies:
- programming and scripting skills (e.g. Bash, PERL, Python, SQL)
- versioning systems experience required (e.g. Git)
- development tools is an asset (e.g. Rundeck, XL Release, Maven, Nexus, Quickbuild)
- monitoring tools such as Elasticsearch, Prometheus and Grafana
- VMWare, storage systems and Linux Enterprise Management Systems.
- RDBMS and Replication (PostgreSQL, Slony, Elasticsearch, MySQL)
- SQL queries, triggers and stored procedures' coding
- Database performance and capacity monitoring tools (Hyperic, Zenoss,..)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project management a plus
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering or similar
**Mental and physical demands**
- Work daily on a personal computer and attend meetings as necessary
- Frequently carry a mobile phone during non-normal working hours
- Sometimes work extended periods
- Concentrate under conditions of high stress and short deadlines
**Working conditions**
- Standard "open-plan" office environment - currently remote
- Sometimes required to work outside regular office hours
