Your New Team You’ll join our dynamic Collaboration Team within the Infrastructure Department, a key part of Auto & General’s Technology division. You’ll work alongside talented IT professionals, contributing to a cohesive, secure, and high‑performing environment that supports our multi‑award‑winning brands.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic design, architecture, and continuous evolution of the Google Workspace platform.
Develop and maintain advanced automation solutions, custom applications, and integrations using Google Workspace APIs and Apps Script.
Implement and champion DevOps principles, including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
Enforce comprehensive security controls, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and data governance within Google Workspace.
Manage and optimise critical security features such as Security Centre, Vault, Single Sign‑On (SSO), and Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA).
Establish and optimise monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure service health and performance.
Lead complex incident management, root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
Design, implement, and manage seamless integrations between Google Workspace and other enterprise systems.
Optimise Google Workspace integration with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
Create and maintain high‑quality technical documentation, including architectural diagrams and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Collaborate strategically with cross‑functional IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
Be open‑minded to learning and assisting with other collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, LumApps, Atlassian).
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in a similar role (e.g., Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Senior System Administrator) managing large‑scale enterprise SaaS environments, with a significant focus on Google Workspace products.
Experience in an administration or governance position managing 1000+ users on a SaaS platform.
Demonstrated ability to provide 3rd‑level support, create support documentation, and manage cases directly with Google support.
Proficiency with Jira or similar project management tools, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
Relevant Google Cloud Certifications: Associate Google Workspace Administrator and/or Associate Cloud Engineer.
