About the role Support the delivery of high-quality, play-based learning for children from birth to school age. Work closely with the Early Childhood Teachers, engaging environments, foster children’s wellbeing and development, and build positive, professional relationships with families. Key duties Prepare, set up and pack away learning experiences and resources. Supervise children’s routines (meals, rest, transitions) and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety. Engage children in age-appropriate experiences that promote social, emotional, language and early numeracy/literacy development. Guide behaviour positively and support inclusion for children with diverse needs. Observe and document children’s learning; contribute to program reflections and room planning. Communicate effectively with families and contribute to a collaborative team culture. Uphold child-safe practices, service policies, and WHS requirements. Skills Warm, professional manner with strong supervision and behaviour-guidance skills. Ability to follow plans, contribute ideas and adapt activities to meet individual needs. Sound understanding of play-based learning, routines and safety in early childhood settings. Reliable teamwork, time management and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication with colleagues and families. Qualifications and experience Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Current Blue Card and First Aid/CPR (including asthma and anaphylaxis) or willingness to obtain. At least 1 year of experience in long day care or similar settings.
