This pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading
**The Role**
Are you an experienced EL 1 Fraud Investigator looking for a short but exciting contract with a high-profile government department? Do you have a Certificate IV Government (Investigations) or a similar qualification?
Are you based in Canberra and have a baseline clearance?

**Duties**:
- Undertake internal and external fraud and corruption investigation activities to ensure compliance under Commonwealth legislation.
- Undertake Public Interest Disclosure (PID) investigation activities in line with the PID Act and Ombudsman's' requirements.
- Research, analyse, collate information, and identify risks and issues from internal and external sources to provide recommendations regarding legislative non-compliance and/or fraud identification, investigation and evidentiary processes to inform decisionmaking.
- Support the team to improve current investigation tools/templates
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including AFP, NACC and Commonwealth Ombudsman's office
- Conduct interviews and collect witness statements. Gather evidence from relevant sources to prepare high quality and evidenced based briefs and reports.
- Support the team to participate in litigation where appropriate to ensure the provision of effective representation on behalf of the department.
- Develop and implement fraud investigation processes and procedures.
**Do You Have?**
- Demonstrated skills, recent and relevant experience in the formal conduct of fraud investigations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Adaptable to competing priorities and challenges in dynamic environments
