Duties required by a Project Manager.
1. Project Planning and Coordination
- Develop and manage project timelines, schedules, and work plans.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other contractors to ensure alignment of plumbing systems with overall project goals.
- Prepare and review project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
2. Budget Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and controlling costs.
- Approve expenditures and ensure all work is completed within the allocated budget.
3. Team Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise and direct plumbing teams, including foremen, plumbers, and apprentices.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring they understand and meet project requirements.
- Ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
4. Quality Control
- Inspect and monitor work to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Address and resolve any quality issues or defects in workmanship.
5. Safety Management
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
6. Client Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and the plumbing team.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, address client concerns, and adjust plans as necessary based on client feedback.
7. Vendor and Subcontractor Management
- Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, including negotiating, ordering materials, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Oversee subcontractor work to ensure it meets project requirements and deadlines.
8. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
- Address any issues or challenges that arise during the project, including delays, cost overruns, or technical problems.
- Make decisions in office to keep the project on track and within budget.
9. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed project records, including contracts, change orders, daily reports, and communication logs.
- Prepare and submit progress reports to clients and upper management.
10. Project Closeout
- Ensure all work is completed to the client’s satisfaction and that the project meets all regulatory and quality standards.
- Oversee final inspections, obtain necessary permits, and manage the handover process.
- Close out the project by completing all documentation and financial reconciliation.
