Key Responsibilities
As Kitchen-Hand at Queanbeyan Childcare Centre, you will play a vital role in preparing meals for the children. Your responsibilities will include:
* preparing and assembling morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon snack
* cleaning the kitchen, cleaning dishes, and assisting with other food-related tasks to support the children's nutritional needs
* general cleaning duties & stock management for the service
* strict compliance with relevant food safety and hygiene regulations and standards
* build and maintain respectful and genuine relationships with children, families, and colleagues
* uphold service policies to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment
* motivate and lead colleagues collaboratively, promoting a positive team culture
* maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct
Qualifications and Experience
* Food Handling Supervisor Training Certificate (mandatory)
* Minimum of 12 months experience as a kitchen hand and working in an early childhood education and care setting (required)
* Certificate II in Kitchen Operations (highly desirable)
* Certificate III or Diploma in early childhood education and care (or working towards an ACECQA-approved equivalent) (highly desirable)
* Demonstrated leadership and initiative
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Must be self starter and have time management skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Ability to document children's allergies and maintain accurate records

Pre-Employment Checks
Offers of employment will be subject to the following pre-employment checks:
· Must have two recent work-based references
· Must have Valid NSW Working with Children Check
· Must have Current First Aid Certificate, including CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certifications
· Must have National Police Check
· Must have Working Rights Check
