Join Darling Downs Health as a Paralegal – Legal Services Coordinator and play a pivotal role in shaping a high‑performing, values‑driven Legal Services function. Based in Toowoomba, you'll be the central connection point for legal claims, litigation and coronial processes—ensuring matters move smoothly, stakeholders are supported, and the organisation's interests are protected. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated paralegal who enjoys meaningful work, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to influence the future of legal service delivery across a major health service.
What Your Day Will Look Like….
In this Toowoomba‑based role, you'll be at the heart of a dynamic legal service environment, coordinating and triaging incoming legal requests while ensuring each matter is directed to the right lawyer at the right time. You'll monitor workflow, identify urgent issues that need escalation, and help keep the entire Legal Services function running with clarity and confidence. Your work will see you partnering closely with internal teams and external stakeholders—such as QPS, OHO, AHPRA, the Office of the State Coroner and QGIF—while preparing high‑quality drafts, reports and responses that support informed decision‑making at all levels. You'll also help build the foundations of a stronger legal function by designing systems, managing matter files, researching complex issues, developing precedents and contributing to education across the health service. Throughout it all, you'll model Darling Downs Health's values, uphold confidentiality and professionalism, and help create a workplace where people feel safe, supported and empowered to deliver exceptional care.
