About the Role This is a fixed term full time position until 11 June 2027. The Experience Designer contributes to the design and delivery of inclusive, and user-centred digital experiences across our digital services on our enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow and Microsoft. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with Solution Architects, Functional Analysts and Policy Owners. The role supports design, and delivery activities to improve how users interact with products, services, and platforms. The role applies established experience design methods, such as user research, journey mapping, interaction design, and usability testing, to inform design outcomes. The Experience Designer collaborates closely with product managers, delivery teams, developers, and policy stakeholders to translate user needs and business requirements into accessible, usable solutions. This position operates with guidance from senior designers, contributes to shared design assets and standards, and demonstrates a strong commitment to public value, accessibility, and continuous improvement. This network consists of Schools, Corporate and Early Childhood Education (ECE) including a school user base of more than 1500 Government schools, 50,000 teachers and 650,000 students. IMTD applies agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, integration, and designs and delivers solutions on the department's cloud infrastructure services (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software services (SaaS).Digital Design and Innovation Branch All product delivery requires alignment with the department's approved enterprise architecture to enable an innovative approach to delivery, including experience design and agile methods to meet increasing demand. Our purpose: * Manage the prioritised demand pipeline for product development * Support the delivery of digital initiatives for department portfolios * Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture practice, to identify common requirements that support re-use of digital products wherever possible * Collaborate with portfolio areas to provide digital design and innovation practice to support business case initiatives * Develop and manage platform roadmaps and standards About the Department The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
