Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
Schedule: 8 hour shift
Job Responsibility:
The main responsibilities include planning and organising the preparation of menus, overseeing the kitchen staff, and ensuring that the food meets high-quality standards.
Duties:
Plan and develop menus in consultation with management, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality standards.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes across entrees, mains, and desserts, with attention to detail and presentation.
Monitor food costs and stock levels, assist in budgeting and ordering supplies.
Ensure proper storage and rotation of inventory to maintain freshness and avoid wastage.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all food preparation and service areas.
Qualification and skills:
Be qualified in hospitality with AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) or have minimum three years' experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
Experience in preparing traditional Australian pub-style dishes, as well as contemporary and seasonal offerings.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
