About Bengalla: Bengalla Mining Company is a joint venture with a strong track record of safety, productivity, and profitability. Operational since 1999, Bengalla is in Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley, and supplies international markets with approximately 13 Mtpa. Bengalla is an open cut coal mine offering a residential lifestyle. The development consent for the operation provides the ability to mine through to 2039. What you will do
* Lead coal mined and coal crushed performance with a focus on productivity, quality and handleability through processing.
* Lead coal recovery in line with reserved tonnages and qualities.
* Undertake routine pit and stockpile inspections providing guidance and feedback to planning and production teams on coal mining practices.
* Provide Daily coal mining, stockpiling and feed plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
* Provide coal exposure and mining guidance through plans and directly to operations.
* Maintain in-pit and ROM coal inventory movements for up-to-date, short-term scheduling.
* Maintain and improve reconciliation processes.
* Assist in conventional mine geology processes of data collection, interpretation.
* Undertake projects and investigations and identify improvement initiatives; provide support in delivering outcomes and achieving improvement.
* Work across a range of software to review existing information and collect new information, generating and building on databases relevant to modelling, mine designs, coal quality, recovery.
* Improve and develop the role, site systems, and processes over time.
What we're looking for
* A degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or demonstrated relevant experience (Essential).
* Open Cut Coal mining geology experience (Essential); Hunter Valley or multi-seam mining advantageous.
* Experience in a coal mining or coal planning role (Advantageous).
* An understanding of coal quality / beneficiation.
* Strong interpersonal skills, an ability to work well with people from all backgrounds at all levels within the business, including experience working closely with production teams.
* Ability to turn data and observations into clear, practical advice.
* Confidence with numbers, writing, and using geological software/tools.
* Safety-focused and systems-oriented; always looking for ways to improve and work smarter.
* Comfortable speaking up and driving performance; team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.
* Driver's Licence.
