Position Details
This is a permanent part‐time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2026.
The Role
The Gardener – Handyperson is responsible for maintaining the school grounds in a safe and tidy condition, ensuring a conducive external learning environment for students and staff. This includes overseeing the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes. The role also involves maintaining hard landscaping features such as courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conducting minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies. In addition, the Gardener – Handyperson is tasked with keeping gardening facilities, equipment, tools and machinery clean and serviceable, reporting faults promptly, and adhering to safe work practices. The role contributes to the development of safe work procedures and conducts risk assessments as needed. Compliance with occupational safety and health legislation and the management of hazardous substances are integral aspects of the role, including the maintenance of records in accordance with safety guidelines.

Eligibility
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
