Woodleigh is currently seeking applications for a part time Primary Specialist Teacher – Drama and Dance to be based at our Penbank Junior campus in Moorooduc. The Primary Specialist Teacher – Drama and Dance is responsible for the development and delivery of an engaging and innovative, inquiry-centred Performing Arts program for students at the campus. They will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and review of the Performing Arts curriculum.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and implement a comprehensive performing arts curriculum that excites the imagination and encourages students to reach their creative and expressive potential
Teach students through dance, exploring the body as an instrument for personal, emotional, and physical communication
Help students develop a movement vocabulary that explores and refines imaginative ways of moving, both individually and collaboratively.
Provide opportunities for students to create, perform, and analyse dramatic works
Encourage students to draw on their personal life experiences when responding to drama.
Foster the development of interpersonal skills, building students' confidence and ability to work collaboratively and creatively.
Experience and Skills
Must be able to demonstrate:
Experience as a primary school teacher
Experience in designing, implementing, assessing and reflecting on effective curriculum
E xperience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme is preferred
Conditions of Employment
A VIT Registration is required for this position
Qualification and First Aid/Anaphylaxis is required for this position
