School Crossing Supervisor – Casual – Cessnock Local Government Area

Responsibilities
* In this role, you'll become a Road Safety hero that is held in high esteem in our communities and vital to the safety of our kids, parents, teachers and local motorists. You'll also grow to be a much-loved familiar face around the school with a unique opportunity to touch the lives of countless families.
* Provide casual relief at sites in the Cessnock Local Government Area. Shifts may fall between the school zone hours 8.00 to 9.30 AM and 2.30 to 4.00 PM, with a minimum of one hour per shift as required Monday to Friday during the school term.
* Receive an hourly rate along with superannuation.

* You're a community-minded person who would like to contribute.
* You'll enjoy building community relationships, keeping kids safe while earning a weekly wage for doing something you love.
* You're reliable and prepared to show up for your community—in good or bad weather.
* You'll display effective communication skills and be alert to potential dangers.
* Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided.
* Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment is vital. If you already have a Working with Children Check, that will speed up the process.

Recruitment timeline
To ensure a smooth and efficient hiring process, here's an overview of the timeline:
* Talent team will review all applications and contact shortlisted candidates by the week commencing 29 September 2025 for a quick 5–10 minute phone interview, followed by panel interviews.
* If successful, you will progress to pre-employment checks.
* Applications close 11:59 PM on Wednesday 24 September 2025.
* Applicants who pass the interview may be considered for a permanent part-time position if a vacancy arises. A Talent Pool may be created for current and future casual and permanent part-time positions over the next 18 months; suitable candidates may be contacted to complete pre-employment checks.
