Your New Role
The Grounds and Maintenance Officer is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of school infrastructure across Xavier Catholic College.
Ensuring the provision of a contemporary and sustainable learning environment that supports CEDWW core business of learning, teaching and wellbeing.
This includes working collaboratively to ensure the maintenance of the School's building, facilities, grounds, gardens and infrastructure so that they are preserved at the highest standard possible.
Also supporting the maintenance and support team with the operational needs of school events and activities.

Salary: Level 4 $79,527 per year – Unaveraged (works during school break)
Selection Criteria
Understanding of and a commitment to WHS practices and engagement in policy
Ability to actively support the scheduling, priorities and safety practices for the team
Ability to use IT systems and software to log, record and facilitate record keeping and administration tasks
Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the wider Support Staff team
Well developed organisational skills and an ability to prioritise deadlines
Being a positive and proactive team dedicated to customer service and customer satisfaction
Experience in maintenance, grounds, gardens and buildings or facilities
Essential Criteria
Minimum of a Diploma and/or a trade qualification or working towards a qualification in a building related discipline such as a trade, construction, architecture, facilities coordinator or equivalent
Minimum two years experience in facilities, maintenance, landscaping or similar
Experience in the effective and safe use of a range of grounds and maintenance equipment
Knowledge and commitment to safe work practices and Work Health and Safety policies and procedures and knowledge of safe lifting and manual handling techniques
Familiar with safe working at heights practices
Experience in a variety of IT systems and software
NSW Working with Children Check
Successful Candidate to undertake a National Criminal History Check
Successful Candidate to undertake a Functional Assessment
Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or willing to achieve
