About the Centre/Service
Miners Rest Kindergarten Established in 2015, Miners Rest Kindergarten is a sessional kindergarten proudly managed by the Miners Rest Primary School Council. Conveniently located next to Miners Rest Primary School, just 10 km northwest of Ballarat, we offer a strong year-round transition program with regular school visits to support a smooth and confident start to primary education. Our purpose-built facility features two well-equipped rooms and delivers a fully funded 15-hour-per-week program for both 3- and 4-year-old children. We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Leader to join us at the start of the 2026 school year.

Description
* Lead, mentor and support teachers and co-educators to deliver high-quality programs
* Manage day-to-day operations, including planning, scheduling, rostering, budgeting, applying for grants and general coordination
* Maintain a strong partnership with Miners Rest Primary School and collaborate closely with school leadership
* Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families and the community
* Ensure a high standard of health, safety and wellbeing is upheld at all times
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, frameworks and quality standards
* Advocate for the rights, safety and best interests of every child
* Oversee the implementation and evaluation of quality programs that support each child's development
* Report directly to the Primary School Principal and School Council

Qualifications
* Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching
* Current VIT Registration
* First Aid Level 2, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management and CPR
* Experience leading a team and thriving in a busy kindergarten environment
* Well-developed understanding of the Victorian and National Curriculum Frameworks, National Quality Standards and current regulations
* Understanding of the VECTEA Award
