Current Opportunities
We have several positions available within our Ipswich Region and are inviting applications from skilled, passionate and dedicated professionals. Candidates are encouraged to apply for multiple specialist positions simultaneously to be considered for all suitable roles within the organisation.
* Position: Sexual Violence Counsellor. The Sexual Violence Counsellor provides specialist trauma-informed counselling, case management and crisis support to victim-survivors of sexual violence aged 12 years and over.
* Position: Young Men's Specialist. This is an exciting role which delivers the Break The Cycle program and provides trauma-informed and attachment-based interventions to young boys and men aged 12-18 years who have experienced DFV and are at risk of using violence themselves.
* Position: DFV Specialists. The DFV specialist roles provide trauma-informed, client-centred support to individuals and families affected by domestic, family and sexual violence. These roles involve risk assessment, safety planning, case management and advocacy with the aim of delivering care and resources to support safety and well-being.

* All positions are full time hours per week.
* DVAC's operating hours are Mon-Fri; 9am-5pm
* Positions are paid at a SCHAD Level Salary Packaging + Employee Benefits
About you
All positions require:
* Candidates must possess a degree in any human services field including social work, psychology, human services, counselling, or related disciplines with a minimum of 2 years post graduate relevant experience.
* Understanding of gender-based violence, case management, and crisis response, including risk assessments and safety planning.
* Knowledge of the Domestic & Family Violence Protection Act 2012.
* Exceptional communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to feminist, trauma-informed, and client-centered practice.
* IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and client management systems.
* Current driver's license, Blue Card & National Police Check
* Applicants must hold a current Blue Card that is valid and up to date at the time of application.
* Commitment to the National Standards for Child Safe Organisation.
Additional Role Requirements:
Sexual Violence Counsellor
* Minimum two years' experience in counselling or related trauma-informed support.
* Group facilitation experience (highly regarded).
Young Men's Specialist
* Knowledge, skills, and proven case management experience in empowering young people who have experienced domestic and family violence and sexual violence through a trauma informed framework.
* Evidence of a Domestic and family violence framework underpinned by a gendered perspective of men's violence against women which considers DFV as both a manifestation and driver of unequal power.
