About the opportunity
The University of Tasmania is seeking a motivated and highly organised International Student Recruitment and Engagement Officer to support our global student recruitment efforts and strengthen the University's international presence.
Working closely with colleagues across the Recruitment, Engagement and Marketing team, this delivery‐focused role plays a key part in attracting and converting prospective international students across priority markets. You will coordinate high‐quality recruitment activities, generate and nurture prospective student leads, and support ethical, compliant relationships with international education agents.
A significant component of the role involves planning and delivering international recruitment events and engagement initiatives, including education fairs, virtual activities, on‐campus events, and international agent familiarisation programs. Working closely with colleagues across recruitment, marketing, partnerships and events, you'll contribute to a seamless end‐to‐end recruitment experience that reflects the University's values and commitment to student experience.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‐paced, collaborative environment, enjoys stakeholder engagement, and brings strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a student‐centred approach.
What you'll do:
* Deliver international student recruitment activities that drive enquiries, applications and enrolments
* Generate, manage and convert prospective international student leads using CRM systems
* Support ethical and effective relationships with international education agents
* Coordinate and deliver international recruitment events, including agent familiarisation programs
* Ensure recruitment activity is compliant with ESOS requirements and University policies
What we're looking for:
* Tertiary qualification in marketing, business, education, international relations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience in international student recruitment, education marketing, or event coordination
* Experience supporting education agents and international recruitment activities
* Strong organisational and logistical coordination skills, particularly for events and programs
* Experience using CRM systems to manage recruitment activity and follow‐up
* High‐level written, interpersonal and presentation skills
* Understanding of ESOS legislation and ethical international recruitment practices (desirable)
* Fluency in a language other than English (desirable)
Qualifications and Licences:
* Current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or ability to obtain
* Current Australian Driver Licence
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 plus 17% superannuation.
To be eligible for this position, you are required to hold Australian or New Zealand Citizenship, permanent residency or a valid visa that enables you to fulfil the requirements of this role.
