The opportunity
Our Waste Services team are seeking a self-motivated Project Officer to support the design, delivery and evaluation of our key waste, resource recovery and circular economy projects. This is a key role in assisting our Council maximise the diversion of waste from landfill and support the delivery of Council’s Waste Management Strategy.
You’ll engage with our staff, and external stakeholders to deliver a diverse range of resource recovery initiatives, whilst delivery projects and coordinating Problem Waste drop off days across our Port Stephens LGA.
* This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
* Base Salary Range: $70,419 to $82,774 pa based on 35 hours / week + 11.5% superannuation + $18,619.19 motor vehicle allowance + $2,312 retention allowance
* You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

* Design, deliver, and evaluate key waste, resource recovery, and circular economy projects to deliver on targets of the Waste Management Strategy
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders in the development and delivery of resource recovery initiatives
* Deliver projects and initiatives efficiently and effectively with respect to cost, time, quality and risk

* A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (project management, environmental sustainability, or environmental management), or significant professional experience in the waste and resource recovery sector
* Demonstrated project management skillset, including the ability to deliver projects on time, within budget and in collaboration with key stakeholders
* A sound understanding of current waste and resource recovery issues and legislation relevant to Local Government
