Our client is an established fintech, seeking an established and commercially astute Country CFO to stabilise, strengthen and lead its Australian finance function during a critical transitional phase. This is a pivotal leadership role with immediate impact. The business operates across multiple customer bases, with a strong B2B focus, and is preparing for significant transformation. The Opportunity You will step into a finance function that requires structure, credibility and leadership. You will be required to: Improve reporting quality and elevate standards Strengthen compliance, controls and regulatory alignment Lead the function through change and engage with external stakeholders Drive accountability and performance across a partly offshore team Act as a trusted partner to divisional and group leadership This is not a steady-state role. It requires someone who can quickly diagnose issues, set clear expectations and execute decisively. Key Responsibilities Lead the Australian finance function end-to-end Oversee compliance, audit and regulatory requirements Establish robust internal controls and risk management processes Improve month-end efficiency, reporting integrity and output quality Prepare high-quality financial information for transaction processes Manage and develop a blended onshore/offshore team Partner with the Divisional CEO and Group CFO on strategic alignment About You Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within fintech, payments, financial services or regulated environments Strong track record in Private Equity businesses and transaction environments are highly beneficial Deep understanding of compliance, internal controls and governance Comfortable operating in ambiguity and change Hands-on leadership style - able to lift standards and drive outcomes Clear communicator who surfaces issues early and follows through You are pragmatic, transparent and execution-focused. You understand risk and know how to tailor frameworks appropriately without over-engineering.
