About the position
The Violet Vines Marshman Centre for Rural Health Research (VVMCRHR) is a leading research centre based at the La Trobe University's Rural Health School. With over 4000 students enrolled across 14 disciplines, it is the largest rural health school in Australia.
Established in December 2019, following a significant philanthropic investment from the VV Marshman Charitable Trust, the Centre continues to grow and attract new researchers, HDR students, and post-doctoral fellows. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Administration Officer to provide high-level administrative support for the Centre.
Duties
* Provide secretarial support for meetings, including regular committee meetings and team gatherings.
* Coordinate events, such as seminars and annual orations.
* Develop and maintain the Centre's website and social media presence.
* Manage budgets and prepare financial reports for the Director.
* Organise staff meetings and book rooms.
* Prepare regular newsletters and annual reports in consultation with senior staff.
This role requires working on-site a minimum of 3 days per week.
Requirements
* A degree and relevant experience, or extensive experience in an administrative field.
* Ability to understand policies and procedures, and apply them effectively.
* Innovative problem-solving skills and ability to take responsibility for outcomes.
* Strong analytical and communication skills.
* Experience working with academic stakeholders with diverse expectations and perceptions.
