Overview
Powertech is a leading Electrical EPC and Services provider delivering complex projects across Oil & Gas, Mining, Utilities, Defence, Infrastructure and Energy sectors. We seek an experienced Senior High Voltage Technician/ Field Service Engineer to join the Brisbane Office on a full-time permanent basis.
Responsibilities
* Commissioning, testing and maintaining HV protections systems/schemes; experience with IEC61850 / GOOSE communications is highly desirable.
* Commissioning, testing and maintaining HV Substations secondary systems and primary plant.
* Commissioning, testing and maintaining various HV/LV plant/assets.
* Commissioning, testing and maintaining power generation systems.
* Commissioning, testing and maintaining power transformers.
* Provide technical support and training to technicians.
* Provide leadership and supervision to technicians.
* Prepare commissioning/testing documentation, protection test plans and detailed technical reports on completion of works.
Qualifications
* Preferable "A Grade" (Fitter and Mechanic) Electrical Workers License or Engineering Degree / Diploma in Power Systems. Degree must be Engineers Australia recognised.
* Minimum 10 years' experience.
* HV Switching Ticket preferred.
* Experience with IEC61850 and GOOSE messaging through IED Scout is viewed favourably.
* Knowledge of relevant Australian and International Standards; knowledge of applicable legislation, policies and procedures.
* Proven ability to meet project quality, schedule and budget requirements.
* Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proven experience using the Omicron suite of equipment for secondary system testing.
* Power Station experience is viewed favourably.
