Talent Manager - BrightSide Executive Search - Drinks Industry Specialists
Our client is an ambitious and fast growing Australian beverage company shaking up the spirits and RTD category. With a mix of established favourites and innovative new brands, they're creating real momentum in the market and partnering with retailers who share their passion for quality and creativity.
They're now on the lookout for a driven Key Account Manager (Independents) to join their team and take the lead in developing the independent liquor channel across Sydney and Melbourne.
In this role, you will manage a diverse customer base from banner groups and wholesalers to multi‑site operators and hoteliers, identifying new opportunities and building commercial partnerships that deliver long‑term growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Strengthening relationships with key independent customers and identifying new avenues for business growth.
* Working alongside the distributor sales team to ensure increased distribution.
* Partnering with marketing to bring brand activations, campaigns, and in‑store promotions to life.
* Ensuring visibility and ranging across the independent channel by communicating opportunities and buy periods to the broader sales team.
* Keeping a close eye on market activity, competitor moves, and consumer trends to help shape strategy.
* Driving sales targets and delivering exceptional account performance.
* Representing our client's brands at key trade shows, tastings, and networking events.
Ideal Experience
* Proven success in account management or senior sales roles.
* Solid understanding of the independent liquor market in Sydney or Melbourne (national banner experience a plus).
* A track record of achieving sales goals and driving category growth.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* A self‑starter mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with broader teams.
* A current driver's licence and flexibility to travel within the territory.
* A strong existing network within the independent liquor channel will be highly regarded.
