Our Corporate Transactions team - which has an impressive bench strength and which boasts a number of Australia's most highly rated partners - is at the forefront of some of Australia's most complex and high-profile matters, spanning: Public and private M&A, including takeovers and business/asset acquisitions and disposals Equity capital markets IPOs and ASX listing rule advice Restructuring and recapitalisations Joint ventures and corporate governance Our practice consistently advises on the matters that make headlines, working with leading corporates, investors and financial institutions across industries.The Opportunity Ashurst's bold 2027 strategy involves significant investment in our Corporate Transactions teams across Australia.
We are making significant progress and are looking to bolster our teams further with additional Lawyer positions to be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
This role is ideal for someone looking to make a long-term commitment to their career in corporate law within a firm that will back their development and ambitions.
What We're Looking For Proven M&A experience, ideally gained at a leading firm (5 years + PQE) Excellent technical and drafting skills A commercial mindset and ability to provide strategic advice Strong team orientation, with the drive to mentor and support junior colleagues Commitment to building long-term client relationships This is an outstanding career-defining opportunity for a talented lawyer to join one of Australia's leading corporate practices, working on the matters that shape industries and define careers.Recent work Soul Patts on its proposed A$14bn merger with Brickworks; CC Capital Partners on its A$3.4bn proposal to acquire Insignia Financial; Healthscope acting for the receivers on the sale of the Healthscope hospitals.
VGW on the proposed A$3.2bn scheme with LEO; e2open on its proposed A$4bn acquisition by WiseTech (as Australian counsel); Harmony Gold on its proposed A$1.6bn scheme for MAC Copper; and ANZ on its A$4.9bn acquisition of Suncorp Bank Why Ashurst?
