Who are We Looking For?
With the growth of our manufacturing plant we are on the hunt for a Senior Hazard Facility Process Technician to join our team based in Moranbah. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant systems. Responsibilities will span routine inspections, maintenance coordination, and operational support, contributing to both production continuity and regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Operating plant systems as needed, maintaining adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
* Conducting thorough monthly inspections of plant equipment and systems.
* Identifying, documenting and reporting faults or irregularities for timely resolution.
* Collaborating with maintenance fitters to prioritise and plan repair activities, balancing production, and maintenance requirements.
* Facilitating procurement of necessary parts and materials to support planned maintenance.
* Monitoring onsite spare parts inventory and ensuring timely replenishment of consumed items to prevent downtime.
* Performing minor maintenance activities, such as valve replacements, calibration checks, mechanical isolations, and other routine mechanical tasks, as required.
* Scheduling and overseeing external contractors for specialised services (e.g., boiler servicing, water treatment, backflow testing, fire safety equipment).
* Ensuring all contracted work is completed too standard and properly documented.
Our ideal candidate would have:
* A relevant trade qualification (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation) is highly desirable
* Strong understanding of process systems, instrumentation, and control logic.
* Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks (e.g., valve changes, equipment checks)
* Skilled in identifying, documenting, and escalating equipment faults.
* Familiarity with maintenance planning / systems and execution in hazardous industrial environments.
* Ability to conduct structured inspections and generate clear, actionable reports.
* Comfortable using maintenance management systems, spreadsheets, and digital reporting tools for data entry, analysis, and communication – high proficiency mandatory.
* Competence in tracking and managing spare parts and consumables.
* Clear and concise in both verbal and written communication – high proficiency mandatory.
* Knowledge of safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk mitigation in high-risk hazardous facilities.
