Role Description This is a contract role for a Policy Officer, located on-site in Canberra. The Policy Officer will be responsible for conducting research, drafting, and refining policy documents and briefs. The role involves analyzing policy issues, providing recommendations, and engaging with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback. The Policy Officer will also participate in high-level communications and coordinate input across various teams to support project delivery.
Qualifications Proficiency in Research and Analytical Skills to assess, interpret, and evaluate policy issues effectivelyStrong Communication and Writing skills for crafting policy documents, reports, and presentationsAbility to engage in Stakeholder Engagement and collaboration with diverse individuals and organizationsDemonstrated understanding of Indigenous development and cultural competency is highly valuedTertiary qualifications in public policy, social sciences, or a related field will be considered an advantageExperience in government or non-governmental policy development is a plus
